How to Delete Your Chat GPT Account

Once you’ve completed the steps above, you’re ready to delete Chat GPT account. Here’s how:

1. Log in to your Chat GPT account at chat.openai.com
2. Click on the ellipsis in line with your account name on the left tab.
3. View on Free Chat GPT Account
4. View on Chat GPT Plus Account
5. Select Settings from the menu.
6. Click the Show button in line with Data Controls.
7. Click on Delete account.
   • You may only delete your account if you have logged in within the last 10 minutes.
     • If you haven’t logged in within the last 10 minutes then you’ll see this modal where you need to refresh your login (aka sign in again):
8. A confirmation modal will appear where you need to type your account email + “DELETE” into the input fields to unlock the “Permanently delete my account” button
9. Once the inputs are filled out you unlock the “Permanently delete my account” button
10. Enter your account’s email address, type DELETE in the box below, and hit Permanently delete my account.
